DreamCarXchange is pleased to offer this a classic British roadster, the 1948 MG TC. This example is finished in Regency Red over Tan interior, and includes a tan soft top. According to the selling dealer, it has spent much of its life in New York though has spent the last five years in New Jersey. Of the 10,001 built, about 2000 were exported to the USA. This example currently shows 1,769 miles.
The T-series was a range of small body on frame roadsters that were produced by MG. The first model, the TA, was first introduced in 1936 but production was halted by the onset of WW2. The TC was the first model produced after the war and was well regarded as the model that started the sports car crazy in the United States.
The TC came with a 1,250 cc (76 cu in) pushrod-OHV engine with a slightly higher compression ratio than the TB of 7.4:1 giving 54.5 bhp (40.6 kW) at 5200 rpm. Notable improvement was through the addition of a hydraulically (oil pressure) adjusted timing chain tensioner. All TCs utilized a (single battery) 12 volt electrical system.
Approximately 2,000 TCs were exported to the United States, though they were right-hand drive only. The export version had slightly smaller US specification sealed-beam headlights (7 inch buckets) and twin tail lights, as well as turn signals and chromed front and rear bumpers with over riders.
All TCs came with 19″ Dunlop wire wheels.
The soft top is in excellent shape according to the seller.
The seller notes that the fuel system was redone in January 2019, the paperwork for this service is provided with the sale. The seller states that this TC is in excellent overall mechanical and cosmetic condition.

It used the venerable 1,250cc pushrod engine with a 7.4:1 compression that pumped out a solid 54.5hp. Despite only ever being produced in RHD, the cars were extremely popular around the world. We're pleased to present this nice 1949 MG TC for your consideration. The car is wonderful shape with recent maintenance including new Lucas Tri-Bar headlights and a new fuel system. The body is finished in a classic Regency Red and has excellent paint quality. The car is accented by wire wheels, radiator fins, Chrome radiator shell and a hood mascot. A rear mounted spare tire and large Lucas headlights complete the look. The soft top is in excellent condition. The interior features camel colored leather that is in wonderful shape. The wooden dashboard is perfect and has very classic and simple instrumentation. The large factory Brooklands steering wheel is in excellent shape. Under the hood is clean and very well detail and the car is in excellent mechanical shape. A wonderful car to enjoy and take to events and club rallies, you won't be disappointed one bit with this charming British Classic.
