DreamCarXchange is pleased to offer up for bid at NO RESERVE this 2004 Lexus IS300 SportCross. This was purchased by Steve Theodore of Steve’s Specialty Cars for the Car Flip Challenge, where all the profits from the sale of this SportCross will go to the Seattle Area Feline Rescue (www.seattleareafelinerescue.org). The SportCross was rare for 2004 as only 384 were sold in the US. This IS300 is equipped with the 3.0 liter in-line 6 cylinder engine with a 5-speed automatic transmission and is finished in Graphite Gray Pearl over Black interior featuring Alcantara inserts. According to the CARFAX, it was originally sold by Lexus of Greenwich in Connecticut and made its way to the west coast in 2006 where it has resided since. It includes recent records for a new battery, fresh tires, and replacement of PCV valve and engine air and cabin pollen filters. It currently shows just over 150k miles and is being sold with a clean New Jersey title.
The interior features leather with Alcantara inserts, the signature chronograph instrument panel, a power moonroof and heated seats.
The IS300 is equipped with the 3.0L 2JZ-GE inline-six (which was the basis for the twin-turbo Supra) was rated by Lexus at 215 horsepower @5800 rpm and 218 lb-ft of torque @ 3800 rpm when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission.
The wheels on this example are the relatively rare 9 double spoke 16″ wheels and currently wear Falken Pro G4 A/S tires with mfr date codes 0718 and 1217.
Steve notes that this example has minor paint blemishes, a bit of curb rash on a couple of the wheels, but overall this SportCross presents and drives very well for its age. He adds that it needs a few things to be perfect such as a few bushings in the suspension are getting tired, the rear floor mats are missing, a small trim piece for the shifter console is missing, the front door lock actuators for automatic locking are not working and it occasionally throws code P0037 for an Oxygen sensor (but has not in the last 50 miles or so).
The car just went through a thorough safety inspection in October 2020 and it passed all safety tests. A new battery was purchased recently, tires are pretty fresh, and a new engine air filter and cabin air filter were added in October 2020 along with the PCV valve being proactively replaced. In addition to these recent services, the CARFAX shows 16 service history records through its life and an accident in May 2020 causing minor damage to the rear during the previous owner’s tenure and another in October 2016. It also indicates a mileage inconsistency which appears to be a data entry error of not including a “1” as the first digit in the mileage. You can download the CARFAX from the Key Specifications table above and make sure you check out the 70+ total pictures found in the “Pictures” tab above. Don’t forget that the profit from the vehicle is being donated to charity and that the highest bidder wins (No Reserve), so bid often on this SportCross to make it yours!
