DreamCarXchange is pleased to offer a blast to the 80’s past for those RADwood and cruise night fans, a 77k mile 1987 Pontiac Firebird Formula. This example is finished in Yellow Gold (color code 54) over Dark Grey cloth seats, comes with the standard 5.0 liter carbureted engine and 4-speed automatic transmission. It is believed to be completely stock with no modifications. According to the clean CARFAX, this car has spent most of its life (1993-2012) in Calumet MI, then to Indiana in 2017, then finally onto New Jersey in 2019. It currently shows 77,878 miles and received a service in February 2020. It is being sold with a clean CARFAX and clear New Jersey title.
The Formula returned to the Firebird model in 1987 as the lighter-weight performance focused version of the lineup. It included features such as the 4-barrel carbureted 5.0 liter V-8 engine, the WS6 package which included 36mm front sway bars, 24mm rear sway bars, quick ratio steering box, gas filled struts and 16″ wheels wrapped with Goodyear “Gatorback” 245/50/16 tires, a power bulge hood (last seen on the 1984 Trans Am) and a wraparound rear spoiler.
The standard 5.0 liter (305 cubic inch) engine made 170hp @4,400 rpm and 250 lb-ft of torque @ 2,500 rpm from the factory.
The Dark Grey cloth interior is said by the seller to be in very good condition and presents extremely well.
The selling dealer purchased from a private owner who installed a set of new Riken Raptor tires in 2019. The seller has since performed a fluids service (oil & filter change, brake fluid and coolant flush) and replacement of the muffler, performed in February 2020. The seller states that it drives very well, the headlights work properly, hatch struts hold well and is very clean overall. The seller also states that the driver’s seat belt does not retract properly but will be repaired prior to delivery.
Numerous pictures of the underside of the car is can be found in the picture gallery.
The CARFAX can be downloaded from the Key Specifications table above and make sure you check out the 60+ pictures found in the “Pictures” tab above. The selling dealer is charging $0.00 for documentation or other fees and is open to trades for this Formula so if you have a vehicle that you would like to trade-in as part or all of your bid, click the “trade-in” button towards the top of the page to begin a private negotiation with the selling dealer regarding your trade-in vehicle and value.
