DreamCarXchange is thrilled to offer this 1988 Lotus Esprit Turbo Commemorative Edition. This example like all Commemorative Edition cars is finished in a Pearlescent White over blue Connolly leather interior with Tritone scheme including pigskin inserts. This example is #17 of 88 Commemorative Edition examples built exclusively for the 1988 model year. According to the CARFAX, it was driven more than 27k by April of 1993 and currently reads 43,980 miles. It is believed to be completely stock, has a clean CARFAX and is being sold with a clear New Jersey title.
In 1987, the Esprit was restyled by British designer Peter Stevens. Stevens, who would later go on to design the McLaren F1, produced a less angular, more rounded Esprit than the original design by Giorgetto Giugiaro. The revised Esprit was not given a new “Series” number but is often called by its project code of X180.
The 2.2 liter inline-four cylinder turbocharged engine produced 215 HP and 192 lb-ft from the factory is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. With a light curb weight of only 2544 pounds, 0-60 was claimed at 5.5 seconds and top speed of 152 mph.
This examples currently shows 43,980 miles, which is consistent with the CARFAX report.

For your consideration is this rare 1988 Lotus Esprit Turbo Commemorative Edition. This example is finished in a very nice Pearlescent White over a nicely aging blue Connolly leather interior. Power comes from a turbocharged 2.2-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transaxle which are all in good working order. The car accelerates, handles, and stops phenomenally and is a blast to drive! This 1988 Lotus Esprit Turbo Commemorative Edition is #17 of 88 Commemorative Edition examples built exclusively for the 1988 model year. 1988 was the 40th anniversary of Colin Chapmans initial registry of the Lotus name, which the company commemorated with an edition of 88 Esprit Turbos finished in Pearlescent White with blue pinstripes. This example is #17 of the Commemorative Edition run and is equipped with a glass sunroof, rear wing, and ducted side skirts. Commemorative Edition cars received unique interior trim consisting of two-tone blue Connolly hides with pigskin inserts. Interior equipment includes power windows and mirrors as well as a Sony cassette stereo. An engraved plaque on the center console states this car to be #17 of 88 in the Commemorative Edition production series. The turbocharged Type 910 inline-four displaced 2.2 liters and is mounted amidships with a Renault five-speed manual transaxle.
